I'm a nerd for year-end recaps, and looking at the votes from our last email, it looks like you love it too! For context: Our financial year ends on March 31st, not December 31st. I did a more holistic 2025 year in review earlier this year, and you'll see in that that we mentioned revenue being the same. That's because that's true for the calendar year. Not a financial year. I know. Sorry if that's confusing. Anyhoo ... This is Part 1 where I'll share what worked for us this year from a revenue and profit perspective. tl:dr: We ended the financial year with revenue and profitability up by 14%. It's marginal, but given the state of the world, we'll take it. 🙌🏼 Especially because 2025 started out slowly. April 2025 was our lowest revenue month, but we knew why. We were making shifts to our services, and any time you make big changes in your business, you will, at times, see a dip. The key is to know why and know it's temporary. Our shifts included adding our Growth Unbottled fractional marketing retainer service and offering more AI building services beyond AI audience groups - creating custom Claude projects for clients, setting up their AI marketing team, and training them. We were also in the middle of planning a full rebrand. Yep. Shifting from the Content Bistro identity completely. Our rebrand is still in process, and we're excited to see our new site go live this month. Growth Unbottled has been a big hit, and we've been fully booked (we have a hard cap of 3 clients at a time for this) ALL through 2025. Growth Unbottled gives our clients ALL the marketing strategy AND copy support their business needs. It's "unlimited" in terms of what they can hire us to write. It's equal parts strategic consulting, which is our superpower, and implementation, which is our zone of genius, to execute the strategy. You should know I still write copy for myself and clients even though we build AI solutions and offer AI education. More on this below. Building AI teams for clients was another big hit. We not only built custom AI team members for our clients, we also trained their human team members on using AI effectively. This was in addition to our AI audience focus groups service. Next was ... AI education. We added AI education to the offer suite in August with our first workshop - GPT Jetpack, followed by Flash Sale Autopilot and then our mastermind - AI Conversion Suite in December. We wrapped up the financial year with our most recent workshop - Claude for Conversions. The workshops were a HUGE hit with both GPT Jetpack and Claude for Conversions, selling out for the live versions. AI Conversion Suite had a successful founder's round. And *drumroll please* as of right now, yours truly has now trained OVER 600 business owners in AI fluency AND using AI strategically and as a conversion-focused team member! WHAT?!!!! 🤯 Pic below because receipts matter to me. Our revenue, therefore, this year was a mix of: 📝Done-for-you copywriting services: Both from Growth Unbottled and standalone projects. 💪🏼AI consulting and custom builds: This included building custom GPTs, custom Claude projects trained on a business's brand voice and messaging, platform-agnostic AI agents, training in-house team members on using AI effectively, consulting with businesses on integrating AI into their workflows. 👩🏻💻AI education: This includes the 3 workshops and the AI Conversion Suite mastermind. Each workshop is taught live and then quickly evergreened. Our expenses included: Tech stack, both AI and non-AI: We're on the Claude Max plan and besides that pay for ChatGPT, Lovable, Relay, Mindpal, Circle, Framer, Kit, Canva, Notion, Loom, Zoom. Contractors: Yes, we still work with humans in our business, even though AI does a ton of heavy lifting. Our goal is to accelerate workflows, not fire people. Education and upskilling: If you've known Mayank and me, you know we invest heavily in learning so we stay relevant and can teach with confidence, too. We invested heavily in AI education this year, earning certifications in both AI agent building and AI training. In addition, we invested in communities to connect and collaborate with more entrepreneurs, too. If there is ONE thing I'd love for you to take away from this end of financial year recap, it is this. Don't sit on those ideas. Launch them. Keep it lean but launch. AI has made it ridiculously easy for you to ship FAST. Leverage that. Worst case: An idea will flop. Big deal. You tried. You have data. Now use that to launch something else.
